Principal's Message

At Dennis B. O’Brien (DBO) we believe it is our daily duty to work tirelessly to ensure that ALL students receive a high quality education that acknowledges and supports individual learning differences, while growing the whole child in a safe and academically and culturally diverse learning environment. To this end, we challenge ourselves to be better than we think we can be. Our success in this mission will build lifelong, confident learners, who have the tools necessary for success in a changing world.

The DBO school community is comprised of approximately 300 Kindergarten to 5th Grade students who are challenged daily with interdisciplinary, cooperative, and differentiated instruction, along with multisensory and experiential learning experiences. We utilize and embrace new technologies in order to advance our students understanding of specific learning concepts.

The added success of our students and school is a direct result of the commitment, participation and dedication of our parents, particularly members of our PTA. Through their efforts and the many committees parents serve on, DBO is able to realize and engage many valuable programs that impact the social and emotional growth and development of our students. We rely heavily, and always welcome the support of our PTA.

At DBO we will continue to work toward a balance of allowing students increasing levels of autonomy, while also ensuring that students are appropriately challenged and scheduled during the school day. We hold high academic standards for all students, and will continue in our efforts to develop and sustain a humane, sensitive, attractive, and comfortable atmosphere for faculty, staff, and students. As our student population and community demographic become more diverse, we are committed to a learning environment that values diversity, fosters respect and understanding, and offers a safe, supportive environment for teaching and learning.
